Julie is the managing partner and founder of our firm. Julie was admitted as a solicitor in 1983. She has specialised in family law gaining her experience in a number of private firms. Julie founded Harrington Family Lawyers in 1991. Julie has been a Queensland Law Society Accredited Family Law Specialist since its inception in 1996. For many years Julie chaired the Queensland Law Society Family Law Section. She is a member of the committee which plans and co-ordinates the Family Law Residential, Australia’s largest annual family law conference. She also has a keen interest in furthering the specialist education of the Law Society’s family law solicitors and has regularly, in consultation with the Continuing Legal Education Department of the Queensland Law Society, been involved in the planning of family law seminars for solicitors. Julie is on the panel of private practitioners able to be appointed as an Independent Children’s Lawyer. Julie has served on various committees of the Queensland Law Society including being the former Chair of the Children’s Committee and a member of the Access to Justice Committee and has published in the Queensland Law Society magazine Proctor. She has previously served as a Councillor of the Queensland Law Society.
